After a glittering career spanning over two decades, former England international goalkeeper Joe Hart has announced his retirement from football. The 37-year-old, who has been plying his trade with Scottish giants Celtic since 2021, made the announcement on Wednesday, May 18, 2024.

Hart, who made over 750 appearances for club and country, is widely regarded as one of the finest goalkeepers of his generation. He rose to prominence with Manchester City, where he won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, and a League Cup. Hart also enjoyed successful spells with Torino, Burnley, and Tottenham Hotspur before joining Celtic.

With Celtic, Hart added a Scottish Premiership title, a Scottish Cup, and a Scottish League Cup to his trophy cabinet. He made his final appearance for the club in a 2-1 victory over Motherwell on May 14, 2024. Reflecting on his retirement, Hart expressed gratitude for the opportunity to have played at the highest level.
